Ilmtal-Weinstraße (German pronunciation:[ˈɪlmˌtaːlˈvaɪnˌʃtʁaːsə],lit. 'Ilm Valley-Wine Route') is a municipality in the districtWeimarer Land, inThuringia,Germany. It was named after the riverIlm, that flows through the municipality. It was formed on 31 December 2013 by the merger of the former municipalitiesLiebstedt,Mattstedt,Niederreißen,Niederroßla,Nirmsdorf,Oberreißen,Oßmannstedt,Pfiffelbach andWillerstedt.[3] Before, these municipalities had cooperated in theVerwaltungsgemeinschaft ("collective municipality") Ilmtal-Weinstraße, which was disbanded. The seat of the municipality and of the formerVerwaltungsgemeinschaft is in Pfiffelbach. The former municipalitiesKromsdorf (which had been part of the formerVerwaltungsgemeinschaft Ilmtal-Weinstraße),Rohrbach andLeutenthal were merged into Ilmtal-Weinstraße in January 2019.[4]
