Il Parnaso confuso (Parnassus in Turmoil) is anopera by thecomposerChristoph Willibald Gluck. It takes the form of anazione teatrale in one act. The Italian-languagelibretto is byPietro Metastasio. The opera premiered on 24 January 1765 atSchönbrunn Palace inVienna. All the members of the cast were archduchesses of theHabsburg family and the work was conducted by the futureEmperor Leopold II from the harpsichord.
