Igor Nikolayevich Rudensky (Russian:Игорь Николаевич Руденский; born 11 September 1962 inIksha,Dmitrovsky District, Moscow Oblast) is a Russian political figure and a deputy of the3rd,4th,5th,6th, and8th State Dumas. In 2003, he was granted aCandidate of Sciences in Economics degree.[1]
After graduating from the Riga Flight Technical School of Civil Aviation, Rudensky held various positions in the production sphere. From 1999 to 2016, he was a deputy of the3rd,4th,5th, and6th State Dumas. Since September 2021, he has served as deputy of the8th State Duma from thePenza constituency.[1][2][3][4]
In 2014, Rudensky filed a lawsuit against oppositionerAlexei Navalny. The reason for the lawsuit was the information disseminated by Navalny that Rudensky did not mention the land plot that he owned in the tax declaration for 2012.[5] TheLyublino District Court of Moscow satisfied the claim.[6]
He was sanctioned byCanada under the Special Economic Measures Act (S.C. 1992, c. 17) in relation to theRussian invasion of Ukraine for Grave Breach of International Peace and Security,[7] and by theUK government in 2022 in relation toRusso-Ukrainian War.[8]
