Idman Azerbaijan TV (Azerbaijani:İdman Azərbaycan TV, "Sport Azerbaijan TV") is astate-controlled television channel inAzerbaijan. It began broadcasting fromBaku on 1 January 2009 and primarily airs live sporting events and sport-related programming.[1][2]
The channel is owned by the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting ClosedJoint-stock Company (Azerbaijani:Azərbaycan Televiziya və Radio Verilişləri Qapalı Səhmdar Cəmiyyəti),[1] of which theGovernment of Azerbaijan is the only shareholder.[3] This company also owns the channelsAzTV andMədəniyyət TV(Culture TV).
Idman Azerbaijan TV channel, satellite and internet broadcasts are partially interrupted due to international sports rights. It is valid in terrestrial and cable broadcasts in Azerbaijan. When there is a match on theAzerspace-1 satellite, theBISS is encrypted from the satellite. All programs are available on terrestrial and cable television broadcasts in Azerbaijan.
