Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image The Musical is a Britishsatiricalpuppet stage show byAl Murray,Matt Forde andSean Foley, based on the TV seriesSpitting Image, which in turn is based on the1984 series of the same name created byPeter Fluck,Roger Law andMartin Lambie-Nairn.
The show made its world premiere at theBirmingham Repertory Theatre running from 1 February to 11 March 2023, directed bySean Foley. The show was originally announced asSpitting Image Live: Featuring The Liar King referring toBoris Johnson parodyingThe Lion King.[1] Following the departure of Johnson as Prime Minister in September 2022, the production was renamed asIdiots Assemble: Spitting Image Saves The World.
The production transferred toLondon'sWest End at thePhoenix Theatre for a limited run from 24 May until 26 August 2023, renamed again asIdiots Assemble: Spitting Image The Musical.[2][3]
