The men'sice hockey tournament at the1932 Winter Olympics inLake Placid ,United States , was the fourthOlympic Championship , also serving as the sixthWorld Championships .Canada , represented by theWinnipeg Hockey Club , won its fourth consecutive Olympic gold medal and sixth consecutive World Championship. TheUnited States secured the silver medal andGermany claimed one of its three all-time hockey medals by taking the bronze (West Germany would win a bronze medal in1976 , and Germany's men's team would win silver in2018 ).[ 1] Overall, four teams participated, with only two European associations (Germany andPoland ) making the trip due to the worldwideGreat Depression .
