Ibyka is an extinct genus ofIridopteridales, and a possible ancestor tohorsetails.[1]
The name comes from the poetIbykos because the discovery of the fossil was due to the activity of construction cranes during the construction of theGilboa Dam.[2][3]The probable relationships withinEquisetopsida are shown in the cladogram below. The position whereIbyka would be added.[4]
