Ibrahim Mbaye (born 24 January 2008) is a professionalfootballer who plays as aforward forLigue 1 clubParis Saint-Germain. Born in France, he plays for theSenegal national team.
Mbaye started his youth career in 2013 at ES Guyancourt before joiningVersailles in 2015.[1] In 2018, at the age of 10, he joined theParis Saint-Germain Academy.[1][2] In the 2023–24 season, while aged 16, Mbaye helped the PSG under-19s achieve victory in theChampionnat National U19 play-offs, scoring againstMarseille in a 2–0 win in the semi-finals and setting upSenny Mayulu's second goal in the 3–1 victory overAuxerre in the final.[3][4]
On 14 July 2024, Mbaye was called up for pre-season withParis Saint-Germain's first team, having impressed head coachLuis Enrique.[5][6][7] On 7 August, he made his first appearance and start for the club in a 2–2friendly draw againstSturm Graz.[1] Nine minutes into the match, he scored PSG's first goal of the season after receiving an assist fromMarco Asensio.[8][9][10] Following PSG's second pre-season match on 10 August againstRB Leipzig, in which Mbaye was a starter, Luis Enrique praised Mbaye's performance, saying he was satisfied with his play.[11][12]
On 16 August, Mbaye made his official debut for PSG, playing the first half of a 4–1 victory away toLe Havre, the first match of the2024–25 Ligue 1 season. He became the youngest player to start a game for PSG at 16 years, 6 months, and 23 days, surpassing the record of his teammateWarren Zaïre-Emery.[13] On 7 February 2025, it was announced that Mbaye had signed his first professional contract with PSG, a deal until 2027.[14]
On 26 February 2025 he made his debut inCoupe de France by coming on as a substitute against 4th tier sideSaint Brieuc, as PSG won the game 7–0 and qualified for the semi-finals.[15]
On 29 March 2025, he scored his first professional goal with PSG, in a 6–1Ligue 1 win againstSaint-Étienne.[16]
On 15 June 2025, Mbaye was subbed on in a 4–0 win againstAtlético Madrid in the2025 FIFA Club World Cup; at the age of 17 years, 4 months and 22 days old, he became the youngest Frenchman (and the sixth youngest player overall) to play in theFIFA Club World Cup.[17]
On 13 August 2025, Mbaye came on as a substitute in the2025 UEFA Super Cup as PSG beatTottenham Hotspur, overtakingRyan Giggs as the youngest player to win theUEFA Super Cup at the age of 17 years, 6 months and 19 days. He also became the youngest Frenchman to play in the Super Cup, and the second-youngest player ever afterRonald de Boer in1987 to play in the competition.[18]
Mbaye has represented France at various youth levels.[2] At the 2024Montaigu Tournament, he helped theFrance under-16s achieve victory while picking up the award for the competition's best player.[19] He was part of theFrance under-18s that finished third in the 2024Lafarge Foot Avenir.[20]
In November 2025, Mbaye received his first call-up to theSenegal national team.[21], making his debut against Brazil on the 15th of November 2025.
On 18th November 2025, for his second cap, he scored his first international goal in a 8–0 victory in a friendly game againstKenya, becoming at 17 years 9 months and 25 days Senegal’s youngest ever goalscorer.[22]
Born in France, Mbaye is of Moroccan descent through his mother and Senegalese descent through his father.[19]
