TheI Liga (English: First League), officially known as theBank Pekao S.A. I Liga due to its sponsorship byBank Pekao,[1] is the second-tier level league ofbasketball in Poland. It is organised by thePolish Basketball Association. Teams that win the championship have the option to bepromoted to the first-tier levelPolish Basketball League (PLK). The first I Liga season was held in the 1954–55 season.
