
ISO 3166-2:NA is the entry forNamibia inISO 3166-2, part of theISO 3166standard published by theInternational Organization for Standardization (ISO), which definescodes for the names of the principalsubdivisions (e.g.,provinces orstates) of allcountries coded inISO 3166-1.
Currently for Namibia, ISO 3166-2 codes are defined for14 regions.
Each code consists of two parts, separated by a hyphen. The first part isNA, theISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code of Namibia. The second part is two letters.
TheKavango East andKavango West regions were created in August 2013 by a split ofKavango Region (which was named Okavango before 1998). At the same time,Caprivi andKaras were renamed Zambezi and ǁKaras, respectively. However, the code for the Zambezi Region was not changed, and is still derived from the former name.
Subdivision names are listed as in the ISO 3166-2 standard published by the ISO 3166 Maintenance Agency (ISO 3166/MA).
