Interferon-alpha/beta receptor beta chain is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theIFNAR2gene.[5]

Function

[edit]

The protein encoded by this gene is atype I membrane protein that forms one of the two chains of areceptor for interferons alpha and beta. Binding and activation of the receptor stimulatesJanus protein kinases, which in turn phosphorylate several proteins, includingSTAT1 andSTAT2. Multiple transcript variants encoding at least two different isoforms have been found for this gene.[6]

Interactions
