TheIEEE Roger W. Brockett Control Systems Award is atechnical field award given to an individual by theInstitute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) "for outstanding contributions tocontrol systemsengineering,science ortechnology". It is an IEEE-level award, created in 1980 by the board of directors of the IEEE, but sponsored by theIEEE Control Systems Society.[1][2]
Originally the name wasIEEE Control Systems Science and Engineering Award, but after 1991[3] the IEEE changed it toIEEE Control Systems Award,[4] and in 2025 toIEEE Roger W. Brockett Control Systems Award.[5]
Recipients of this award receive a bronze medal, a certificate, and an honorarium.[1][2]
