Itsredshift is 0.069243[1] which means the galaxy is 954 millionlight-years fromEarth.[2] IC 923 has apparentdimensions of 0.50 x 0.2arcmin, meaning it is approximately 139,000 light-years across.[3] IC 923 was discovered in June 1892, byEdward Emerson Barnard[4][5] and is a member ofgalaxy group V1CG 588.[6]
