ICG Enterprise Trust plc (formerlyGraphite Enterprise Trust plc and before thatF&C Enterprise Trust plc) is a largeinvestment company. It is listed on theLondon Stock Exchange and is a constituent of theFTSE 250 Index.[1]
The company wasfirst listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1981[2] as an investment trust specialising in providingventure capital for unquoted companies mainly in Europe and the US.[3] Afterpersonal equity plans ('PEP's) were introduced by theChancellor of the Exchequer,Nigel Lawson in 1987, the company was one of only three investment trusts, and the only one specialising inventure capital to feature in the PEP performance leagues.[4] The company developed a strong reputation for investment performance and was the UK's best performing investment trust between 1992 and 1997.[4][5]
It wasmanaged byF&C Asset Management as F&C Enterprise Trust plc until May 2001,[2] then byGraphite Capital as Graphite Enterprise Trust plc until February 2016,[2] and then byIntermediate Capital Group as ICG Enterprise Trust since then.[6][7][8]
