TheICC Women's Champions Trophy is an upcoming quadrennial internationalcricket tournament organised by theInternational Cricket Council. The first edition of the tournament will take place in 2027 inSri Lanka, with matches being played in theT20I format.[1]
The ICC Women's Champions Trophy was announced on 8 March 2021, onInternational Women's Day in the events list for the ICC 2024/31 cycle.[2] The competition will include six teams.[3][2] On 26 July 2022, Sri Lanka was announced as the first hosts of this tournament, as long as they qualify.[4]
On 13 November 2024, The ICC launched a newvisual identity for the Champions Trophy with the release of a launch video.[5][6]
The tournament will consists of 6 games in which six teams will play each other in around-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the final.
