In 1997 he produced the track "Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass",[2] which became a huge underground dance hit and is often cited as an early example ofelectroclash.[1] It introduced "old-fashioned verse-chorus dynamics to burblingelectro in avocodered homage toAtari-erahi-jinks" and is the "record widely credited with catalysing" the electroclash movement.[1]
The albumFucking Consumer was released in 1998 on the Disko B label, followed byThe Man From Pack the next year. In 1999 he also made the mixed albumMixed Up In the Hague Vol. 1,[3][4] which has been cited by many, includingMorgan Geist, as being the catalyst that brought renewed interest inItalo disco.[5]
