Iñaki Bea Jauregi (born 27 June 1978) is a Spanish former professionalfootballer who played as acentral defender, currentlymanager ofSegunda Federación clubGimnástica Segoviana.
Bea was born inAmurrio,Álava. After starting out with modest clubs in his nativeBasque Country, and having a stint in theSegunda División B withCiudad de Murcia, he had his first taste of professional football atLorca Deportiva CF in the2005–06 season, helping the side retain theirSegunda División status underUnai Emery.[1]
Subsequently, Bea joinedReal Valladolid, scoring three goals in 35 games as theCastile and León teamreturned toLa Liga in 2007 after a three-year absence[2][3][4][5] but being less used in the following years – only seven matches in the2007–08 campaign and 17 in2008–09.[6] He made his debut in theSpanish top flight on 28 October 2007, featuring 45 minutes in the 2–2 away draw againstCA Osasuna.[7]
Bea left in June 2009,[8] moving to the second tier withReal Murcia CF.[9] He wasrelegated in his only season, being subsequently released.[10]
Aged 32, Bea had his first experience abroad, signing a 1+1 contract withAustrian clubFC Wacker Innsbruck.[11] He made hisBundesliga debut on 18 July 2010, playing the entire 4–0 home win overSK Rapid Wien.[12] His only goal in the competition arrived on 22 September of that year, when he helped to a 4–2 away defeat ofKapfenberger SV.[13]
After retiring, Bea worked as assistant manager atLevante UD andSD Eibar underJosé Luis Mendilibar, his former coach at Valladolid.[14][15][5] On 24 February 2022, he was appointed head coach of theDominican Republic national side.[16]
Bea signed withCD Numancia in the same capacity in November 2022.[17] The following 1 May, he was dismissed.[18]
Subsequently, Bea was in charge ofSegunda Federación clubsÁguilas FC[19] andGimnástica Segoviana CF.[20]
