TheHypsiprymnodontidae/ˌhɪpsɪˌprɪmndɒnˈtd/ are afamily ofmacropods, one of two families containing animals commonly referred to as rat-kangaroos. Thesingle known extant genus and species in this family, themusky rat-kangaroo,Hypsiprymnodon moschatus, occurs in northernAustralia. During thePleistocene, this family included themegafauna genusPropleopus.
