Hypericum fasciculatum, known aspeelbark St. Johnswort orsandweed, is aspecies offlowering plant in the St. Johnswort family,Hypericaceae, native to the southeastern United States.[1][2][3] It is found from eastern North Carolina, south to southern Florida, west to eastern Louisiana.[4]Kew'sPlants of the World Online database also notes that it occurs in Cuba,[1] though Cuba is not listed in several other sources.[4][3][5] It was firstdescribed in 1797 byJean-Baptiste Lamarck.[6]
Peelbark St. Johnswort grows in wetlands including wet pine savannas, marshes,cypress ponds, and roadside ditches. It flowers from spring to fall.[4][3]
