DatukHusam bin Musa (Jawi: حسام بن موسى; born 14 October 1959) is aMalaysianpolitician who served as a senator in theDewan Negara from 2018 to 2021. He held the position of vice-president in theNational Trust Party (AMANAH), a component party of thePakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, until September 2020.
A vice-president of thePan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) from 2011 to 2015, he was considered the leader of the party's liberal wing.[1] He was expelled from the party for alleged misconduct on 6 May 2016.[2]
As a PAS member, Husam representedSalor (2008-2018) andKijang (2004-2008) in theKelantan State Legislative Assembly. He was also themember of parliament forKubang Kerian (1999–2004). His time as a member of parliament brought him some prominence, and he received the accolade of "Newsmaker of the Year 2003" fromMalaysiakini for his tenacity to bring up issues of public interest.
In the2018 Malaysian general election, he contested and failed to win theKota Bharu parliamentary and Salor state seats as a member of theNational Trust Party (AMANAH).[3]
He was appointed to serve a three-year term as senator, lasting from September 2018 to September 2021.[4]
Husam resigned as vice-president of AMANAH in 2020 amid rumours of a disagreement between him and party leaderMohamad Sabu.[5]

Husam was earlier conferred theDato' Paduka Jiwa Mahkota Kelantan award which carries the titleDato' when he was an exco in 2006 by the previousSultan Ismail Petra of Kelantan but the award was revoked by his son,Sultan Muhammad V in February 2018. On 13 October 2018, Husam was awarded Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka by Tuan Yang Terutama Yang Dipertua Negeri Melaka which carries the titleDatuk.
