Hunter Long (born August 19, 1998) is an American professionalfootballtight end for theJacksonville Jaguars of theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football atBoston College and was drafted by theMiami Dolphins in the third round of the2021 NFL draft.
Long grew up inExeter, New Hampshire. He graduated fromExeter High School before doing apostgraduate year atDeerfield Academy inDeerfield, Massachusetts. He played tight end anddefensive end in high school. As a senior he had 30 receptions for 508 yards with two touchdowns and had seven sacks. He committed toBoston College to playcollege football.[1]
Long redshirted his first year at Boston College in 2017. In 2018, he played in 12 games and had four receptions for 103 yards and two touchdowns.[2] In 2019, Long had 28 receptions for 509 yards with two touchdowns.[3][4] He returned as the starting tight end in 2020 where he had 57 receptions for 685 yards and 5 touchdowns.[5][6][7]

Long was selected by theMiami Dolphins in the third round (81st overall) of the2021 NFL draft.[11] Long signed his four-year rookie contract with Miami on July 26, 2021.[12]
On March 15, 2023, Long and a 2023 third-round draft pick (which was previously acquired from theNew England Patriots) were traded to theLos Angeles Rams in exchange for cornerbackJalen Ramsey.[13] He was placed oninjured reserve on September 9, 2023 with a thigh injury.[14] He was activated on November 14.
On December 8, 2024, Long scored his first NFL touchdown on a 22-yard blocked punt return during the Rams' 44–42 win over theBuffalo Bills.
On March 12, 2025, Long signed a two-year contract with theJacksonville Jaguars.[15]
