Hunter Doohan (born January 18, 1994) is an American actor. He gained recognition for his roles in the television seriesYour Honor (2020–2021),Wednesday (2022–present), andDaredevil: Born Again (2025).
Doohan is the son of the Australian tennis playerPeter Doohan (1961–2017) and Angie Harper Carmichael.[1] He grew up "all over the south" but chiefly inFort Smith, Arkansas.[2] He became interested in acting via high school and community theatre programs;[3] after high school he took up an internship at Elizabeth Barnes Casting in Los Angeles[2] before working in a variety of day jobs including background extra, waiter, andUniversal Studios tour guide[4] while studying acting and auditioning for parts.[2]
Doohan's breakthrough role was playing the younger version ofAaron Paul's character Warren Cave in the first season of the 2019 Apple TV+ seriesTruth Be Told. In 2020, he appeared with a main role in the legal drama seriesYour Honor.[5] He portrayed Adam Desiato, the son ofBryan Cranston's character, that gets into trouble after being involved in ahit-and-run accident.[6]
In 2022, he began portraying Tyler Galpin in theNetflix seriesWednesday, an adaption ofThe Addams Family.[7] He stars alongsideJenna Ortega,Emma Myers,Catherine Zeta-Jones,Christina Ricci, andGwendoline Christie. The show has run for two seasons and renewed for a third, with Doohan set to return.[8][9]
In May 2025, Doohan was cast in thesupernatural horror film,Evil Dead Burn. The film serves as the third standalone entry, afterEvil Dead Rise (2023), and the sixth installment in theEvil Dead film series.[10] He also appeared inMarvel'sDaredevil: Born Again, asBastian Cooper.[11][12] Doohan also stars in the Americandrama filmThe Wilderness, which is set to release in October 2025.[13]
Doohan, who isgay, began dating producer Fielder Jewett in 2015 and the two married in June 2022.[14][9] The wedding was officiated by Doohan's friend and co-starBryan Cranston.[15]
While Doohan has been open about his sexuality since he was 18, he admitted to privating pictures of him and his then-boyfriend when auditioning for roles. Doohan has credited fellow actorJonathan Bailey, who is gay, for inspiring him to be open about his sexuality in the industry.[16][17]
