Humphry Beevor (24 August 1903 – 12 June 1965) was the seventhBishop of Lebombo.[1]
He was educated atWinchester College andOriel College, Oxford and ordained in 1929.[2] His first post was as acurate atSt Mark's Church, Swindon.[3] He was thenLibrarian atPusey House, Oxford,[4]Chaplain ofShrewsbury School and then aWorld War IIChaplain in theRNVR. From 1947 to 1950 he waseditor of theChurch Times[5] thenPriest in charge of St Mary and St George,West Wycombe. In 1952 he was elevated to theepiscopate, serving for five years. After this he waschaplain atThe King’s School, Canterbury. In 1961 he was appointed chaplain of St John's Church,Montreux,[6] where he was also chaplain to St George’s School, Châtelard. He retired in 1964.[7]
His stepson isChristopher Mackenzie-Beevor.[8]
