TheHull Thunder were a Britishice hockey club fromKingston upon Hull, England. Formed in 1999,[1] it competed in the now defunctBritish National League playing its home games at theHull Arena.
The club replaced theHumberside Seahawks, which existed from 1988 until 1999.
The team ran into financial problems in 2001 and was bought. After a promising pre-season, the team under the new owners again ran into financial trouble, resulting in it finishing the 2002 season without any imports.
A new team was formed in 2003 calledHull Stingrays, which played the majority of its time in theElite Ice Hockey League before folding in 2015. The Hull Stingrays were quickly replaced by theHull Pirates and debuted in the 2015-16English Premier Ice Hockey League.
