Huishui (Chinese:惠水;pinyin:Huìshuǐ) is a county of south-centralGuizhou province, China. It is under the administration of theQiannan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. 61% of its 476,900 population are minorities, includingBouyei,Miao,Hui,Zhuang,Sui,Bai, andMaonan.[2] In 1372 it was the seat of the historic Chengfancommandery (程番府).[3]
Within Guizhou it is noted for itsorange cultivation.
Thegecko speciesHemiphyllodactylus huishuiensis was first discovered in, and named after Huishui.[4] A locally distributed species ofGesneriaceae plants was only found in Huishui.[5]
