Huarochirí (Quechua:Waruchiri)[1] is aprovince of thedepartment of Lima,Peru. From the administrative point of view of theCatholic Church in Peru, it forms part of theTerritorial Prelature of Yauyos. Its capital isMatucana. The western section is part of theLima Metropolitan Area.
The La Viuda andParyaqaqa or Waruchiri mountain ranges and theCordillera de la Corte traverse the province. One of the highest peaks of the province isParyaqaqa at 5,750 metres (18,865 ft) above sea level. Other mountains are listed below:[2]
