Howard Louis Ballard (born November 3, 1963) is an American former professionalfootball player who was anoffensive tackle in theNational Football League (NFL) for theBuffalo Bills andSeattle Seahawks.[2] He was selected by the Bills in the 11th round of the1987 NFL draft.[3] Nicknamed "House", for his sturdy build, he played in fourSuper Bowls and was selected to twoPro Bowls while a member of the Bills. He playedcollege football atAlabama A&M University.
After breaking his leg in a game, which ended his career, Ballard worked as a sheriff's deputy inClay County, Alabama. He eventually returned to school to finish his degree, and started coaching high school football inPike County, Alabama.
