Houston FC is an American pre-professional soccer club based inHouston, founded in 2016 by Bruce Talbot.[1] Head coach Bruce Talbot[2] played collegiately for theNorth Carolina Tar Heels,[3] and has experience coaching atWake Forest University,[3] as well as atClemson University.[3] The team began as a youth team competing in theSuper Y-League.[1] Its second year Houston FC started a senior team that currently competes inUSL League Two.[4][5] Then in 2022, the team expanded and began competing in theUnited Premier Soccer League[6][7]

In 2019 as a 3 year old club 9 players from the team committed to play college soccer as covered in a new section done byABC13 Houston.[8] In 2020 Houston FC fought their way into the first round ofU.S. Open Cup qualifiers coming back from a 3-0 deficit then losing in penalties.[9] In the 2023USL League Two season, central midfielder Clancey Skea made it into the final round of voting for the "League Two Young Player of the Year Award".[10] In 2025 long time Houston FC goalkeeper Daniel Namani signed withUSL Championship sideSan Antonio FC.[11][12] Also in 2025, Houston FC won theUnited Premier Soccer League Texas South[13] conference with a 7-1-2 record, going undefeated away.
