Houat (Breton:Enez Houad;French:Île d'Houat,French pronunciation:[ildwat]) is a Frenchisland off the south coast ofBrittany in thedepartment ofMorbihan. It is located, along with two other major islands, in the entrance to theBaie de Quiberon. Its "twin sister" island isHoëdic.

Administratively, Île-d'Houat is acommune of the Morbihan department.

Geography

5 km (3.1 mi) long, 1.5 km (0.93 mi) at the widest. The island is mostlygranite cliffs except for a long beach lined withdunes on the eastern coast.
