Horamavu is an area inBangalore in the Indian state ofKarnataka. It is a rapidly growing suburb which is adjacent toBanaswadi,Kalkere andRamamurthy Nagar in Northeast Bangalore. TheKrishnarajapuram railway station, an important railway junction in Bangalore, is 3 km away. It is about 35 km away from the city's main Kempegowda airport.

Horamavu was initially a village comprising plenty of farm land, mangroves and orchards. It had a rich and diverse ecosystem, consisting of birds including eagles and pigeons, bats, and bees that facilitate pollination. Today, the rampant rise of high-rise apartments and schools in the neighbourhood has damaged the greenery of the area, and the local bees and birds.

The locality is primarily inhabited by IT professionals as many companies are at a accessible distance and almost close to central part of the city. Schools such as St. Vincent Pallotti School,Vibgyor High School, Deva Matha High School,Narayana Techno School,Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Mehras Educational institute, Christian group of institutions, Navneetam college of nursing are present in this area. Horamavu is also home to several eateries and restaurants such asAdyar Ananda Bhavan, Udupi Sagar and so on. There are several new apartments and real estate properties springing up in the area includingPrestige Gulmohar, Cumins, Kolte Patil Mirabilis and so on. Recently, the new underpass was also inaugurated, easing traffic on the Horamavu Main Road. TheOuter Ring Road passes by Horamavu.

Lakes such as the recently revived Horamavu Agara Lake and the Horamavu Lake (which is being revived), are present, but currently face pollution problems.[1]
