History

The history of women's football in Hong Kong can traced in 1965 whenVeronica Chan founded the Hong Kong Ladies Football Association.[2]

Hong Kong's domestic-based players has long been amateurs with part-time jobs.[3][4] Chan was credited for Hong Kong's role in hosting theAFC Women's Asian Cup in1975,1981,1986, and1989.[4]
