TheHoly Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church (Serbian:Свети архијерејски синод Српске православне цркве,romanizedSveti arhijerejski sinod Srpske pravoslavne crkve) serves byChurch constitution as the executive body of theSerbian Orthodox Church. TheHoly Synod consists of five members: four bishops and thePatriarch who serves as the chairman.[1][2]

  1. ^Officially known as the Archdiocese ofBelgrade andKarlovci, encompassing only the Belgrade area. The title "of Karlovci" is in reference to oldSerbchurch jurisdictions seated in the town (theMetropolitanate of Karlovci and thePatriarchate of Karlovci). Thiseparchy (diocese) is headed by the Serbian Patriarch.
