Hoentay is a traditional sweet buckwheatdumpling that is known have originated from Haa Valley inBhutan. Similar tomomos they are made frombuckwheatdough wrapper usually combined with spinach or turnip leaves, amaranth seeds (zimtse), cottage cheese, butter, chili powder, onion and ginger.[1] It is usually eaten during the festival ofLomba, an agricultural festival that marks the end of the harvest season and for New Year celebrations.[2]

However, with urbanisation, Hoentey is losing its place among the younger generation.[3]
