Hilt (also known asHilts) is anunincorporated community inSiskiyou County,California, United States. The community is alongInterstate 5 near theOregon border, 18 miles (29 km) north ofYreka.[2] It is named for early settler John Hilt.[3] Hilt was acompany town for the Northern California Lumber Co. and the Fruit Growers Supply Co.[4]
