HDC (Hybrid Digital Coding orHigh-Definition Coding) with SBR (spectral band replication) is a proprietarylossyaudio compressioncodec developed byiBiquity for use withHD Radio. It replaced the earlierPAC codec in 2003.[1][2] In June 2017, the format was reverse engineered and determined to be a variant ofHE-AACv1.[3] It uses amodified discrete cosine transform (MDCT)audio codingdata compression algorithm.[4]
