The village is located in the north west of Alsace, on theCanal de la Sarre at the point where the little riverEichel flows into theSaar.

Surrounding communes areSiltzheim to the north,Oermingen in the south-east andKeskastel to the south. To the west the commune is on the border withSarreguemines in the adjacentMoselledépartement.
