The Ven. Henry Fearon (bornCuckfield, 20 June 1802; diedLoughborough 13 June 1885) wasArchdeacon of Leicester[1] from 1863 until 1884.[2]
Fearon was born in Ockenden,[3] Cuckfield, Sussex on 20 June 1802, the son of the Rev. Joseph Francis Fearon.[4] He was educated atEmmanuel College, Cambridge,[3] where he graduatedB.A. in 1824,M.A. in 1827 andB.D. in 1834.[4] He wasordaineddeacon in 1826 and priest in 1827. He was theRector ofLoughborough from 1848 until his death.[5] He advocated for a clean water supply to the town and paid for the Fearon Fountain, which stands in the marketplace.[6] TheFearon Hall in Loughborough was built in his memory, by public subscription.
