Henning A. Blomen (September 28, 1910 – July 14, 1993) was an American politician who was candidate forUnited States President of theSocialist Labor Party of America in1968 and forVice President in1964.

Blomen was born inNew Bedford,Massachusetts in September 1910.
He was married twice. His first marriage was toMargaret Elwell, originally from Eastport Maine, and with whom he had one daughter,Frances Tripp. His second marriage in 1969 was toConnie Zimmerman who went on to be the SLP vice presidential candidate in 1976.[1]
He worked as a machine assembler shipper for a coffee importer and later at achemical plant inCambridge, Massachusetts, where he was employed for more than 25 years.
Henning died at a nursing home inNorth Reading, Massachusetts on July 14, 1993[2] at the age of 82, was cremated and his ashes were scattered behind a private residence on Water Row Rd. in Sudbury, Massachusetts.
Blomen respresented theSocialist Labor Party of America as apresidential candidate for1968 United States presidential election and as its candidate forVice President during the1964 Presidential election.[3] Blomen was an unsuccessful candidate forGovernor of Massachusetts 14 times.
According to his obituary in theBoston Globe, Henning advocated a bloodlessrevolution, abolishment ofcapitalism and the establishment of asocialist industrial republic.[4]
