Qaamarngup uummataa (Danish:Lysets hjerte[1]) (English title:Heart of light) is a1998Greenlandic andDanish produceddrama film directed and written byJacob Grønlykke.[2][3] It is the first major production for a film to be completely shot in Greenland.[4]
The film is about anInuk alcoholic, who has to come to terms with his criminal son. He leaves his village and seeks recovery, and returns a new man, refreshed.[5]One of the central themes of the film is the conflict between modernity and tradition.[1]
