Hassan Khel Tehsil is an administrative subdivision (tehsil) ofPeshawar District inKhyber Pakhtunkhwa province ofPakistan. This subdivision bordersNowshera District to the east andKohat Subdivision to the south.
The main settlement in Peshawar division is Kalakhel.
Prior to 2018, this administrative subdivision was known asPeshawar Subdivision, and formerly also known asFrontier Region Peshawar was a subdivision ofFederally Administered Tribal Areas ofPakistan. The region was named afterPeshawar District which lies to the north and west.[2]
The region is hilly, with average heights of over 1,000 m (3,300 ft) above sea level.[2]
The population in 1998 was 53,800.[3]: 5 The predominantfirst language isPashto, spoken by 99.2% of the inhabitants of the district.[3]: 6
