Ashrafuddin Abu Muhammad Hasan ibn Muhammad Husayni Ghaznavi (Persian:اشرف‌الدین ابو محمد حسن بن محمد حسینی غزنوی) known asAshraf (اشرف) was a 12th-centuryPersian poet. Asayyid, he boasted of his lineage from the family of theIslamic prophetMuhammad in his poetry.[1]

Originating fromGhazna now inAfghanistan, he served mostly underBahram-Shah of theGhaznavid dynasty. He also servedSultan Sanjar for a while. He died inAzadvar,Iran, where he is buried.[2]

Hisdivan contains 83ghazals.

He died around 1160 or 1161.
