Harvey Stevens (8 August 1930 – 15 December 2016) was anAustralian rules footballer who played withFootscray andCollingwood in theVictorian Football League (VFL).[1]
Stevens started his career in1948 at Collingwood and played in their1952 Grand Final before being released by the club during the summer.
In1953, Stevens joined Footscray, the club his fatherArthur had played for.[2] He won the Footscraybest and fairest award that year.
Stevens is a member of Footscray's first premiership winning side, playing as a ruckman in the1954 VFL Grand Final.
His grandsons areDaniel Talia who played for theAdelaide Football Club, andMichael Talia who played for theWestern Bulldogs and theSydney Swans.[3][4]
Stevens died on 14 December 2016, aged 86.[5]
