Harmesh Malhotra (14 June 1936 – 22 November 2005) was an Indianfilm director,producer, and screenplay writer.
Malhotra made his directorial debut withBeti (1969), featuringSanjay Khan andNanda. In 1972, he established his own production company, HM Productions. He is best known for directingNagina (1986), starringRishi Kapoor,Sridevi, andAmrish Puri. He later directed its sequel,Nigahen (1989). Another notable film in his career isDulhe Raja (1998), which starred Govinda.[1]
Malhotra's roots lied inKhushab District, a region now inPunjab, Pakistan and had to move toAgra,Uttar Pradesh following the1947 partition.[1]
He was married to Manju Malhotra and had two daughters, includingPayal Malhotra who has acted in films.[2][3]
