Hark Bohm (German:[haʁkboːm]ⓘ; born 18 May 1939) is a German actor, screenwriter, film director, playwright and former professor for cinema studies. He was born inHamburg-Othmarschen and grew up on the islandAmrum. His younger brother was the actorMarquard Bohm, who starred in some of his early films. He is most notable for his long-time collaboration withRainer Werner Fassbinder.
His first feature film as a director was the GermanwesternTschetan, der Indianerjunge shot in 1972 and starring his brother Marquard as well as his adopted son Dschingis Bowakow as Tschetan.
In 1978, he directed the filmMoritz, Dear Moritz, which was entered into the28th Berlin International Film Festival.[1] Ten years later, his filmYasemin was entered into the38th Berlin International Film Festival.[2] In 1990, his filmHerzlich willkommen was entered into the40th Berlin International Film Festival.[3] In 1997, he was a member of the jury at the47th Berlin International Film Festival.[4]
