Haritan (Arabic:حريتان,romanized: Ḥuraytān, also spelledHuraytan orHreitan) is a town in northernSyria, administratively part of theMount Simeon District of theAleppo Governorate, just northwest ofAleppo. Nearby localities includeRatyan,Bayanoun andMayer to the north,Anadan,Yaqid al-Adas to the west,Kafr Hamrah to the south andShaykh Najjar to the east.
According to theSyria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Huraytan had a population of 12,937 in the 2004 census.[1]
