Harald Hammarström (born 1977 inVästerås, Sweden) is a Swedishlinguist.[1] He is currently an Associate Senior Lecturer atUppsala University. Hammarström is especially known for his extensive work on curatingGlottolog, abibliographic database of the world's languages.[2]
Hammarström has previously been employed as a researcher at theMax Planck Institute for the Science of Human History inJena, Germany and at theMax Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, inNijmegen, Netherlands.[3]
His wide-ranging research interests include thehistorical linguistics andlinguistic typology of South America, Africa, andMelanesia.[4]
