Hamad Medjedovic[a] (born 18 July 2003) is a Serbian professionaltennis player. On 25 August 2025, Medjedovic reached his career-highATP singles ranking of world No. 57.[6] He is currently the No. 3 singles player from Serbia.[7]
Medjedovic won the2023 NextGen Finals. He representsSerbia at theDavis Cup.
Medjedovic was born in aBosniak[8] family inNovi Pazar,Serbia, at the time part ofSerbia and Montenegro.[9] He started taking tennis lessons in his early childhood, at a tennis facility next to his town.
Medjedovic had good results onITF junior circuit. He reached an ITF junior combined ranking of world No. 9 on 4 January 2021.[10]
Medjedovic made his ATP main draw debut at the2021 Belgrade Open after receiving a wildcard for the singles and doubles main draws.[11]
Medjedovic reached the final at the2022 Platzmann-Sauerland Open as a qualifier, eliminating both fourth-seededMarco Cecchinato and top seedNicolás Jarry en route. He then defeatedZhang Zhizhen in less than an hour in the final, winning his maiden Challenger title.[12]
In February, Medjedovic recorded his firstATP Tour win, when he made his debut in theDavis Cup by beatingViktor Durasovic in the tie againstNorway whichSerbia won 4:0.[13]
In March, Medjedovic won his second Challenger title at theKiskút Open after defeatingNino Serdarušić in the final in straight sets. With this win, he became the fourth Serbian teenager to win multiple Challenger titles, joiningNovak Djokovic andJanko Tipsarević (with 3), andMiomir Kecmanović (with 2). As a result, he climbed into the top 200 at world No. 192 on 20 March 2023.[14]In May, ranked No. 214, he moved close to 50 positions up in the rankings to a new career high into the top 170 following his third Challenger title at the2023 Upper Austria Open where he defeated three Austrians including former world No. 3 and top seedDominic Thiem in the semifinals and fifth seedFilip Misolic in the final. At 19 years and 9 months, he became the third Serbian teenager to win 3 titles in Challenger history, joining Djokovic and Tipsarevic.[15]
In May, Medjedovic made his Grand Slam debut at theFrench Open where he qualified to the main draw with victories overIvan Gakhov,Juan Manuel Cerúndolo,[16] andJesper de Jong,[17] He lost in the first round toMarcos Giron.[18]

In July, Medjedovic made hisWimbledon debut, where he qualified again.[19] He lost toChristopher O'Connell in the first round of the main draw.Ranked No. 183, as a qualifier, he reached his first ATP semifinal at theSwiss Open Gstaad. He beatZhang Zhizhen in the first round,Dominic Thiem in the second and fourth seedYannick Hanfmann in the quarterfinals in straight sets.[20] He lost to the eventual championPedro Cachin.[21]In August, Medjedovic entered theUS Open qualifying where he lost in the first round in three tight sets toBorna Gojo.[22]In September, he won his fourth title on theATP Challenger Tour inMallorca, defeatingHarold Mayot in the final. As a result, he moved into the top 125 on 11 September 2023.
Medjedovic was granted awildcard for theAstana Open, where he reached the quarterfinals with wins over seventh seedLaslo Djere in the first round and wildcardAlexander Shevchenko in the second.[23][24] Next he defeated fourth seedJiří Lehečka in straight sets, to reach his second career semifinal, for the biggest win of his career thus far.[25] In the semifinals, he lost to the fifth seedSebastian Korda in three sets with three tiebreaks.[26] In November, he qualified for the2023 Next Generation ATP Finals[27][28] and won the title, unbeaten in all five matches, defeating top seedArthur Fils in the final,[29] thus becoming the lowest-ranked champion in tournament history at world No. 110.[30]
Medjedovic made debut at a Masters 1000 at the2024 Mutua Madrid Open after qualifying for the main draw and recorded his first win at this level overAleksandar Kovacevic.[31] At the next Masters, theItalian Open, he reached the third round for the first time at this level, also after qualifying, defeatingAlexei Popyrin and 30th seedAlejandro Davidovich Fokina but lost to second seedDaniil Medvedev.[32][33][34]He qualified for the main draw of the2024 French Open, once again losing in the first round.[35]
At the2024 Belgrade Open where he received a wildcard, he reached his maiden final with wins over third seedFrancisco Cerúndolo[36] and compatriotLaslo Djere.[37] Medjedovic lost the final toDenis Shapovalov.[38]
Following lifting the trophy at theOeiras Indoors Challenger level event, Medjedovic reached the top 100 in the singles rankings at world No. 98 on 13 January 2025.[39][40]
In February, Medjedovic reached his second ATP final at2025 Open 13 Provence inMarseille,France. In the final, he was beaten by the FrenchmanUgo Humbert, after beating world No. 8Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals to record his first career Top 10 win.[41][42] By getting to the final stage, Medjedovic reached his career-highATP singles ranking of world No. 73 on 17 February 2025.[5]
At the2025 Qatar Open, he withdrew from his second round match after being injured during his match against No. 6 seedStefanos Tsitsipas, despite endeavoring to win while injured over Tsitsipas.[43]
On 25 August 2025, Medjedovic reached his career-highATP singles ranking of world No. 57.[5]
Medjedovic has a long friendship with tennis legendNovak Djokovic. He first met his countryman at age nine and first practiced with him at age 16, after which Djokovic began providing Medjedovic advice and financial support, covering all his tennis expenses.[9][44]
