Haloxazolam (marketed inJapan under the brand nameSomelin), is a drug which is abenzodiazepine derivative.[2][3][4] It has similarhypnotic properties as the benzodiazepine drugstriazolam,temazepam, andflunitrazepam and as such is indicated for the treatment ofinsomnia.[5] A study in cats comparingestazolam and haloxazolam found that haloxazolam only affectsgamma motor neurons, whereas estazolam affects both alpha and gamma motor neurons.[6]
