Hachette Filipacchi Médias, S.A. (HFM) is amagazinepublisher. It is a wholly owned subsidiary ofLagardère Active, a division of the media conglomerateLagardère Group of France.

History

Hachette was founded byLouis Hachette (French pronunciation: [a.ʃɛt])Brédifin 1826 when he purchased theLibrairie Brédif; the company later became L. Hachette et Compagnie.

Hachette was purchased byMatra in 1980, a firm associated withTénot &Filipacchi. Hachette Filipacchi was nationalised in 1981 but remained a publicly traded firm. It is a subsidiary of Lagardère Media,[1] acquired in 2004.[2]

Publications

Hachette Filipacchi Media publishesParents, andLe Journal du Dimanche. It also publishedParis Match until October 2024, when it was sold byLagardère toLVMH.[3]

From 1985 the company also publishes various titles abroad.[4] Hachette sold its international titles toHearst in 2011.
