Homeobox protein Hox-B3 is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theHOXB3gene.[5][6][7]
This gene is a member of theAntp homeobox family and encodes anuclear protein with ahomeoboxDNA-binding domain. It is included in acluster of homeobox B genes located onchromosome 17. The encoded protein functions as asequence-specifictranscription factor that is involved in development. Increasedexpression of this gene is associated with a distinct biologic subset ofacute myeloid leukemia (AML).[7]
